Meet some of the people you have helped.

Mother and Baby

Theresa*, a new mom on Martha’s Vineyard, suddenly lost work hours and couldn’t return to her second job. While waiting for child support to begin, she struggled to cover basic bills.

Thanks to your support, we were able to help with her rent and guide her to fuel assistance — giving her the stability she needed to care for her baby.

Because of you, Theresa can take care of her baby.

Elderly Veteran Honored

Bob*, a veteran, suddenly faced two urgent crises at once – a costly dental procedure he needed for his health and a car repair he needed to keep working. His savings couldn’t cover both, and he didn’t know where to turn.

Because of your generosity, we were able to help Bob fix his car and get the dental care he needed.

A local veteran needed help, and you were there.

Away

Dorothy*, age 95, was at risk of losing her home when a rent increase pushed her fixed income past its limits. Scared and with nowhere else to turn, she reached out to the Neighbors Fund.

Thanks to your support, we provided rental assistance and food vouchers, ensuring she could remain safely in her home.

You helped keep a roof over Dorothy's head.

Group Volunteering Together

Our history

For 90 years, neighbors  have come together to help neighbors in crisis.

What began in December 1936 as the Neediest Families Fund (created to help just ten Cape Cod families) has grown into a trusted community safety net serving residents of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, and Nantucket.

While our name has evolved, our purpose has never changed: to provide immediate financial assistance for life’s basic necessities — housing, food, medical care, and heat — when hardship strikes.

Today, the Cape Cod Times Neighbors Fund continues this proud tradition, offering hope, dignity, and stability to individuals and families facing illness, job loss, accidents, and other unexpected emergencies. This is who we have always been. Neighbors helping neighbors.
